14th June 2009. Returning to Swanage after diving on the Kyarra, and approaching Peveril point, we spotted a school of Bottlenose Dolphins. They swam with us for three or four minutes before heading off up the channel.
Well there are some days and some dives when you ask yourself 'why do I bother with all this'. Well this was one of those dives. Ten of us were coming to the end of a dive at Claudio's Reef, Fury Shoal in the Red Sea when 4 dolphins swam up and first played with the guys at the back, and then swam around the corner to play with those at the front of the pack. They dived and rolled and we dived and rolled, flips and turns. There is nothing quite like a dolphin watching you from 4 feet away... and I've been diving 25+ years!
Trip on the MV Sea Serpent to Daedalus, Rocky Island, Zarbagad, St Johns Reef, and Fury Shoal. A lot of steaminga nd some excellent diving; including of course St Johns Caves and Claudio's Reef.
